WordCamp Asia 2026 closed out its three-day run at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India, from April 9–11, drawing thousands of WordPress contributors, agency owners, and site builders from across the region and beyond.
Reports on turnout vary slightly by source, but organizers and community coverage put attendance at well over 2,600, with some accounts citing more than 3,000 attendees — making this year’s edition one of the largest WordCamps ever held, following previous Asia editions in Bangkok, Taipei, and Manila.
The schedule leaned heavily into artificial intelligence, enterprise WordPress, developer workflows, product strategy, and open source collaboration. Automattic CEO and WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg spoke about the future of the open web, while WordPress Executive Director Mary Hubbard joined a fireside chat moderated by Shilpa Shah covering leadership, education, AI, and community growth.
Contributor Day brought hands-on core, plugin, and documentation work, alongside workshops and panel sessions — capped off by a major community announcement about the project’s next flagship WordCamp.
